2 John2 John is one of three letters in this section written by the Apostle John. The letters are numbered according to their length, not their importance. This one chapter letter presents the inseparability of love from truth. Truth cannot be compromised for love, and love cannot be compromised for truth. The Lady to whom the letter is written was full of love for strangers and had traveling believers into her home. After giving them lodging, she found out that some were teaching false doctrines and John presents the teaching that she should not allow them in her home or even greet them because the one who greets them is in fellowship with their evil works. Very powerful words but the spiritual welfare of her household was at stake. Learn how we as believers are to approach the area of love for others without compromise of truth. 2 John 9-13»
We focus on the meaning of the Scripture that tells us, "If someone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house and do not greet him." Learn of God's ways to handle mixing with unbelievers. 2 John 8 Part 2»
