But then he described the individual principle parts of that unity, which is every believer. Every believer is to function in the grace of God with concern for other believers. We are one in Christ and we are to deny ourselves in order to function in that unity together. The purpose for the unity is for the building up of the body of Christ, for the maturing of the body of Christ. So that we are no longer babes tossed to and fro by every wind of teaching.

  • Ephesians 4:28-32 ~ Grieve Not the Holy Spirit of God

We live in a hedonistic society, which means we live to satisfy our pleasures and the desire of our pleasures. And we get so singularly focused on ourselves that we are not sensitive to the need of others. So God is going to create need. God is going to place people in positions where they have need, they have no choice. They could not do anything different other than maybe to find some other means of help. And God is going to create the need in order to work in us and through us to provide for the need, because we are naturally self-centered, selfish people.
