Revelation Chapters 16 – 17

Revelation 17:3-6 ~ Mystery Babylon the Great

Basically it is a person's ability to understand what is happening to them. To stop and realize that Satan is trying to occupy my mind with this problem, or with this person, or with this circumstance. And realize that Satan is out to occupy the attention of my mind. Because whatever I am occupied with is what will be the expression of my life. Like a person that is under the influence of alcohol. If I am mentally under the influence of Satan through the world, that is what my life is going express. You will see it on my face, you will hear it in my voice. Everything about me will be expressing whatever is on my mind.

It is interesting because in the book of Proverbs it says, As a man thinks so is he. It is whatever you think. I mean we can put on an outward display with each other and act a certain way in public, but whatever is on our mind that is really who we are. And we can try to put that aside in order to do something - like a job, or Bible study, or church, or something - but whatever we are meditating on that is who we are as a person. And whatever I am meditating on that is what people are going to see in my life.

So the Lord says, "I have saved you but now I want to be the influence that people see. I want to be that expression in your life." And the only way that can happen is when we are filled with the Spirit.
