Ephesians Chapter 3

Ephesians 3:14-17 ~ To Be Strengthened in the Inner Man

Paul is praying for them to be strengthened. It comes from the word kratos that means grip. When he says, to be strengthened with power, kratos is that grip. In fact self-control, as a fruit of the Spirit, is the word in with the word grip with it. If we were to say you know, "Get a grip." Get a hold of yourself. Get control from the inside. Only the Bible presents the fact that Christ lives within and He is the one who has a grip on us. And His grip is according to His power. So Paul is praying that we would be strengthened, that the power of God from within would have a grip on us.
