James Chapter 1

James 1:5-8 ~ The Explanation of the Prayer of Faith

Without faith it is impossible to please God. Without surrender to Him and trusting Him it is impossible to please Him.  He is not pleased.  We have to live by faith. And we must believe by faith that God is. that He exists as God. You see, if I trust God to be God I am not going to be running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to do God’s work for Him. He is perfectly capable.

James 1:19-21 ~ The Explanation of the Procedure of Faith Part 1

The more we are in the word of God the more we see who Jesus is and the more we see who we are. And when you get to the second part it is not a pretty picture and Jesus purposely does that. He purposely puts in His word - everywhere you can look - how much we need to surrender to Christ.

Because everything about us personally is sin. Even the way we think, the way we evaluate things, everything about us, it is sin. The only thing holy about me is God’s Holy Spirit in me. I am holy because God’s Holy Spirit is within me. Whatever God says in His word is right and I am wrong, that is just the way it is.
