John Chapters 19 – 21

  • John 20:1-18

Two things I want you to take note of today.  First of all, the meaning of the resurrection of Jesus. Not the event, the person. Jesus Christ rose from the dead as a stamp of approval by the Father that His sacrifice has been accepted.  Secondly, the resurrection of Jesus Christ takes place when a person is saved. We are raised from the spiritual dead by the Spirit of God. And then we are sustained daily by the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. Daily. Not a one time thing, but it is daily.
  • John 21:18-25 ~ The Revelation of God’s Will for Peter

Jesus never approached Peter and condemned him or judged him for it, in fact He told Peter, You will deny Me but when you return strengthen the brothers. This was a design plan by God for Peter to come to grips with who he really was. He wanted to die with his Lord. He wanted to identify with Christ. When it came right down to it he could not do it. Jesus already knew that. In fact, He knows that all of us, no matter how good our intentions are to follow the Lord and obey Him, we cannot do it in our own strength. It is impossible. We must trust Him.
