Joshua Chapter 6

The Lord's methods and ways of doing things are not ours. And it is of the utmost importance that we do what He says and do it His way and be obedient to His word. The victory for God's people's is in total dependency upon obedience to God's word, doing it God's way. It has nothing to do with our own ingenuity. It has nothing to do with our own methods. Just do whatever God says to do. It does not make any difference if it is foolishness; it does not make any difference if we agree with it or not. That is God's way and He says, "Do it," and if you do not, you are a sitting duck. You are going to get picked off. Your relationship with the Lord is going to go nowhere; no effectiveness of Christ.

Joshua Chapters 7 – 8

If you are not obedient to God's word and put your faith and trust in the Lord, the Lord will allow the enemy to defeat you in this one little battle that you are in. The enemy will not overcome you; he will not take away your salvation; and he will not take you away from Christ. But this is a personal relationship of learning how to live by faith and not taking the Lord for granted. The enemies overcame them on purpose. God says, "Because they sinned." It all happened because they sinned.

Joshua Chapter 9 ~ We are not Ignorant of Satan’s Devices

Satan will not only attack us by baiting us and tempting us with sin, he will also join us and become like a Christian. Just to be alongside of us, just to be with us, just to be around us, and have that very person pull away from the things of Christ. Our guard is down because we are not even looking for it. Satan will attack you. He will look like a Christian. Smell like a Christian.  Eat like a Christian. Believe like a Christian. But there is no fellowship there.  You cannot have fellowship with darkness. Period. Satan's devices are that he joins you. If you cannot beat them, join them.

Joshua Chapter 10

The book of Joshua parallels our walk with the Lord by faith. Especially, the idea of the armor of God as mentioned in Ephesians 6. In order that we may be able to stand against the methodical attacks of Satan. Knowing the war rages on. No matter the victories; or how much the advancement and growth; or how much the blessing of obedience brings, there is still more war. It does not stop.
