• Revelation 3:18-20 ~ The Instruction and Exhortation to the Church

Material prosperity covers up a person true spiritual condition. The worst thing that can happen to a Christian is that their ship comes in. Unless God has given them a special ministry to handle material things correctly for the Lord’s use. Because they will spend it and use it upon themselves. They will use the human resources and the finances to solve the circumstances of life.

He says, Purchase from Me. How do you pay for spiritual things with money? You do not. You cannot buy it. He is saying, "Why do you spend your money thinking that you are getting bread? Or thinking that by spending your money on those things that you are going to be satisfied?" He says, "Come to Me and gain true riches that I will just give to you." They are spiritual.

You see, He is answering the psychology of the people that measure success by material things. This philosophy that says if I am "blessed" with a lot of material things, then I am blessed by God. It was that way in Jesus’ day; it is that way right now in the church. "God does not want you to be poor. God does not want you to go with out. We are the King’s kids! We have to live like King’s kids!" Well, when the King came He did not live that way. I think the King has a different view of it than we do.
  • Revelation 3:21-22 ~ The Provision and Admonition to the Church

Not everybody can hear. They can physically hear but cannot spiritually listen. That one who already has the ear, it must be made open by the command of Christ.  Hear what the Spirit is saying to all of the assemblies. It is an important message. The Bible presents that everybody should be listening to what the spirit is saying to all of the assemblies. You put it together. All seven messages present a total package. There are seven themes, one for each church.  And we have to know about all seven of these characteristics, or themes; because we are the ones who have to be ready for Christ at His coming and be in obedience to His word.
