• Romans 3:1-2 ~ What Advantage is it to be Religious?

What good is it to be a Jew if nothing ceremonial that I can do - even in obedience to the ceremony of the law, that is not going to save me. Being born a son of Abraham in the flesh, that is not going to save me. Then, what good does it do? What is the advantage of the Jewish person? Well, the advantage is they have been given the word of God to study and apply to themselves and then to go out and preach it to the world. They studied it. They worked it mentally. But they did not apply it to themselves.
  • Romans 3:3-8 ~ Can Unbelief Affect the Will of God?

There is not anything that man can do or not do that would stop God. And yet there are teachings out there that make a human being the center such as the teaching, "If the human being does not believe, God cannot do anything." That does not stop God but it does not let us off the hook either. Like I say, we dictate to Him what He must do in our life to discipline us to get us to line up with His truth and His will, but it does not stop Him.
  • Romans 3:9-18 ~ Fourteen Characteristics of the Natural Man

The natural man without Christ has no respect and reverence for the things of God. None. Now, that is you and me in the natural. You and me in the natural. None of us understands. None of us is righteous in and of himself. None of us seeks God out in the natural. The natural mind is blocked off.
  • Romans 3:19-20 ~ The Purpose for the Law

The Scriptures present that God's word is like a mirror. We are seeing two things in the Bible. We are seeing who God is and who I am. That is it. And in order for God to reach me with the truth He has to convince me and break through my deceptive processes to show me how much I need him. I think that is pretty good. That is a great act of love.
  • Romans 3:21-26 ~ The Provision of God for Justification

Somehow, in some way God tested my heart and said, "Well, if we cultivate this a little bit your heart will be receptive to Christ."  So through a process of months His Spirit through His word continued to cultivate my heart and one night Jesus saved me.  He made the preparations.  The seed was planted.  And the fruit of that seed is salvation.  But the more I look back on it, even after all these years, I see more and more that it was all Him and not me.  How do I follow Christ?  By faith.  The only thing I do is make decisions in my head.  I cannot do it.  That is what faith is.  I entrust myself to the Spirit of Christ, to God's Spirit to do what is pleasing to God sight.  I cannot do it.  The same way I got saved is the same way I live and walk with Christ and grow in Christ.  It is by faith but it is His faith, not mine.
  • Romans 3:27-31 ~ Justification by the Law of Faith

And let me reiterate to you again, I think it is the biggest problem within the body of Christ today, is distinguishing between human faith and spiritual faith. Meaning that I have to produce the faith.

Remember what that word faith means in Greek, (pistis), it means persuasion. It is a word used in the Bible to describe the activity of God’s Spirit. If we get ministered to, it is because God’s Spirit is persuading us. He is ministering to us. When God’s Spirit ministers through us to others God’s Spirit is persuading them about the truth of Christ. So (pistis) is a word that is used to describe the presence and the activity of God Spirit in a person’s life.
