If you were to ask the question, who would be the most blessed person on the face of the earth? What would be their circumstances? Who would they be? What country would they live in? The Bible says the most blessed person in life is the person that has had righteousness credited to their account instead of sin. Therefore, because of that I can experience and interact with the fullness of all that God is. And He lives inside of me. I do not have to keep my eye on Him and make sure He does not slip out the door. He is inside of me all the time. That person can say they are the most blessed person on the face of the earth. The sin issue has been taken care of. My debt with God has been taken care of through Jesus Christ. That allows me to interact with the true living God. Learn about Him. Grow close to Him. Be changed by His presence and His influence over my life and experience all the fullness of who He is.
The promise given in Genesis chapter 12 verse 3, He told Abraham that in you all the families of the earth, of the earth, will be blessed. Those who bless you will be blessed, and those who curse you will be cursed. So even as early as Genesis chapter 12 verse 3 God had pronounced that the blessing through Abraham would be upon all the families of the earth. And so, God through Paul is not canceling out the Hebrew and Jewish people. He is putting everything in its proper place.
And we have to understand this. We do not stand before God on that day and He sees all of our sins, and it says, paid, paid, paid, paid, paid, paid next to them. He looks at our account and there is no sin there. It says the righteousness of Christ, that is the only thing there. And if I say, "Well, I have sinned." Yes, but Jesus credited that to His account. And He died on the cross to fulfill God's requirements for the punishment and penalty for your sins.
God is the one that takes dead things and makes them alive. God is the one who out of nothing that exists makes something to exist. That is what happens to us by faith, not by works. He creates in us the new life and salvation through Jesus Christ. And from then on He is constantly showing us, as we wait and we wait and we wait for His Spirit to provide in this earthly realm for us. He waits until things get worse so that He can manifest to us personally His sustaining power, but also to everybody around us.
Do you realize that is always our consideration? Now, I know I should trust the Lord but the reason why I waver is because, in reality, at this point in my life I do not know that the Lord has the ability to keep His word. That is what it boils down to. I believe it and I know it in my head, but when it comes to life that is the challenge. The Christian life is not just built on doctrines, it is built on trusting the Lord in life.
Salvation is trusting, not trying. Salvation is trusting that Jesus Christ provided all of the requirements of God's law for me. And once He fulfilled all of those requirements His righteousness was stamped, imputed, on my account and my sins were taken off of my account and put on the cross, on the Lord’s account. I cannot add to that.
