II Timothy Chapter 2

No man [who] wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life that he may please Him who has chosen him as a soldier. Literally, enlisted him. I have been convicted many times in my walk with the Lord that I am not making decisions that are pleasing to Him. He called me; He set me apart for Him; He made me one of His children. He made me a soldier for Christ, I am in the Lord's army, I am fighting the winning battle. But I can tell by the conviction of God's Spirit when I make decisions that are not pleasing to Him and that take me away from the very purpose and reason for Him calling. A very powerful statement to Timothy for him to pass on to other people.
