Do you realize that the person of Jesus Christ is the resurrection? The only means by which a human being can experience that quality of life that you and I are working so hard to attain. It is not found among dead things. Only in the person of Jesus Christ can one experience life.

As I evaluate my life, I evaluate it naturally according to the human, according to the flesh. If my physical body, and my physical life, and my mind are stressed I have a natural tendency to evaluate the condition of my life as being in bad shape. I am looking for God to help me. I am looking for Him to take care of the weakness of the human flesh. But in reality He is sustaining my life spiritually with the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. Spiritually, inside, in spite of what I am going through in the human, His resurrection power is sustaining me and keeping me.
And Paul says, "I am praying that you would be enlightened to this, that the eyes of your mind will be open." If you are just focused on the physical, it will be discouraging. If you focus on the spiritual - Christ is sustaining us and He will take us through, and He does take us through every single day. If you are born of the Spirit of God, He keeps us by the grip of His strength. Draw off of the strength of that grip. That strength is so powerful that it raised Jesus from the dead. A very powerful statement. It is sustaining power that never stops. It does not come and go. No matter what I go through the Lord's resurrection power is sustaining me every single day.
God cannot be stopped from fulfilling His will and His word. Sure you can put soldiers there. You are just going to help prove that God raised Him from the dead.
They did not know the Scripture. They did not know the words of Jesus. They had no clue. They did not know what was going on. You see the text does not emphasize human failure. The text emphasizes God's glory. God is doing this. Human beings are just walking around not knowing what is going on.
"I find as I get out into the world in the natural business of everyday life, I feel very unsatisfied and empty and frustrated. Even though I do things in the world out of necessity, I am handling empty things. They are spiritually empty things, they do not satisfy the soul. And so I experience this emptiness even as I go out into the world with things that are natural. Whatever stimulation or exhilaration we are seeking in life is here for a moment and gone. God created life to be that way. God created life so that every human being cannot find satisfaction, salvation, or contentment in anything other than Jesus Christ Himself."
