Matthew

Think not that I came to destroy the law and the prophets; I am not come to destroy but to fulfill.

The Gospel of Matthew was written by Matthew during the late sixties AD. The theme of his gospel is fulfillment. It contains over sixty references to the Old Testament and was written to the Jewish people to present Jesus as the fulfillment of Scripture and therefore, The Christ, or promised coming Messiah.
